“As my bees pollinate local wildflower hedgerows and meadows they produce a Natural Carmarthenshire Wildflower Honey which retains its exceptional flavours direct from the beehive by using only ethical and sustainable beekeeping.
I select a limited supply of authentic, raw and unpasteurised wholesome and exquisitely distinct honey exclusively for you. It’s crisp and delicately refreshing flavour is the perfect accompaniment to many dishes or just warm crusty bread” - Rhodri Owen, Head Beekeeper

“Clear honey with a golden colour and classic honey and wildflower aroma with floral, citrus overtones with caramel coming through afterwards. We found this completely charming, with strong flavours of the hive as of meadow flowers. A great drizzling honey, simple and delightful.”

“Wonderful floral aromas on the nose, quite runny and with a bright and variable flavour that dances on your tongue. The wildflowers are quite discernible and this is a lovely gentle, clean, delicate and complex honey that leaves a pleasant lasting aftertaste. The flavour had a lovely purity to it and was quite well balanced.”
Excellent length of flavour with a lasting light complexity.”

Did you know that honey is not just great to eat as part of a healthy lifestyle, it has amazing medical benefits too? It has been used in medicine for thousands of years as it’s the worlds oldest antibiotic, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and antiseptic. Good locally sourced honey contains enzymes, antioxidants, non-heme iron, zinc, potassium, calcium, phosphorous, vitamin B6, riboflavin and niacin all naturally. It can even be used as a prebiotic for good gut health.
Topical use of honey heals wounds and burns for thousands of years and are still used the NHS to this day. Diabetic foot and other diabetic ulcers is very effectively treated with honey with a 97% success rate. Its success comes from its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects as well as its ability to nourish surrounding tissue as well as stimulating tissue growth and minimising scar formation.
As a Phytonutrient powerhouse honey has high levels of antioxidants that are found in good locally sourced honey including phenolic compounds like flavonoids that reduce heart attacks, strokes and some types of cancer. They may even promote eye health.
Studies have showed that good locally sourced honey may improve your cholesterol levels as it reduces total and "bad" LDL cholesterol while significantly raising "good" HDL cholesterol. High LDL cholesterol levels is a strong risk factor for heart disease. This type of cholesterol plays a major role in atherosclerosis, the fatty build up in your arteries that can lead to heart attacks and strokes. Using honey than refined sugar can lower Triglycerides, another risk factor for heart disease and with type 2 diabetes.
For many years honey has been used against hay fever but as yet there has not been enough research on the claim. But ask many of our customers if it works and they will tell you it does!
